Courtyard Marriott Close to Boston's Quincy Market
Lobby of the Courtyard Marriott Tremont Hotel
Is there a Courtyard Marriott close to Quincy Market?
What other things are there to do in the area? Thanks!
Susan's reply: The Boston Courtyard Tremont Hotel, located in Boston's Theatre District, is the closest Marriott Courtyard to Quincy Market (a.k.a. Faneuil Hall Marketplace) - about a 10 minute walk up Tremont Street and then a couple of blocks over to the right.
A second Courtyard, the Marriott Courtyard Copley Square (88 Exeter Street), is located in Back Bay, about a 15 minute walk from Quincy Market.
If you're using frequent traveler points (or trying to collect more), each of these hotels is reasonably close to Quincy Market, and the walk to/from each one is pleasant and picturesque.
You should keep in mind, though, that the hotels are actually quite different from each other, despite sharing the Courtyard brand. Both are located in old, somewhat ornate buildings, and both are in popular areas with lots of attractions: the Theatre District (Courtyard Tremont), which overlaps with Chinatown and is part of Downtown Boston, and Back Bay (Courtyard Copley Square), which is a rather ritzy neighborhood with lots of elegant Victorian brownstones, restaurants, and shopping, including Boston's famed Newbury Street shopping district.
The Courtyard Tremont has 315 rooms and very pleasant public spaces. One of Boston's most popular clubs, the Royale, is located next door; they feature different DJs every night and have recently been booking some interesting live music groups (check our Boston Concerts listings to get a flavor). There are also lots of other clubs and restaurants within a few block radius, as well as the theaters. At the same time, you're also close to Boston Common and historic sites (including Faneuil Hall) along the Freedom Trail.
The Courtyard Copley Square, by contrast, is really a boutique hotel - only 81 rooms and suites. It's on a quiet side street just off of Copley Square. This area also has lots of restaurants and great shopping, as well as famed Trinity Church and the Boston Public Library. Nightlife consists mainly of bars and pubs. If you like exercise, it's within walking distance to Fenway Park; otherwise, you can hop on the subway as it's only about 2 stops away.
Near Quincy Market, you'll also find tons of things to do. In addition to the Freedom Trail, you're close to TD Garden (Bruins, Celtics, concerts), the North End (almost 100 restaurants), and the Rose Kennedy Greenway.
Hope this helps! Enjoy your stay in Boston!
