Food Editor-at-Large at Stuff Magazine at the Boston Center for Adult Education, located Boston's gorgeous Bay Village neighborhood near some of the top Boston restaurants. . One of the greatest perks of living in Boston is dining at all of the city’s trendy restaurants, yet how frustrating is it to read a bland or inaccurate review?

Great atmosphere, quick service, good food, four stars . . . What do you do with that? Looking for something saucier? Write your own!

This summer braise your inner food critic at the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE). The secret ingredients? Stuff Magazine’s Food Editor-at-Large Louisa Kasdon and her five-star class: “Well Done: Writing Restaurant Reviews.”
Louisa will teach students how to write a credible restaurant review based on everything from service and ambiance to the latest culinary trends.

You will learn the difference between a credible review and a rant, how to write both subjectively and objectively, as well as how to best capture and critique your culinary experiences.

Louisa will be joined by guest instructors including The Boston Globe writer Alison Arnett and Executive Chef Jason Santos of Gargoyles on the Square, in addition to other well-known Boston chefs.

Alison Arnett was The Boston Globe’s restaurant critic and chief food writer for over 15 years. She not only reviewed Boston’s restaurants in a period of expansive growth and creativity, but also reported and wrote about nutrition, agriculture, trends, fads, cookbooks and personalities in the food business.

As Executive Chef of Gargoyles on the Square, Jason Santos serves up provocative American cuisine, combining Asian, French and traditional American flavors with a visual and textual twist. His menu consists of everything from truffles, foie gras and caviar-garnished dishes to house-made jalapeno corn dogs. Santos has made many television and radio appearances, including spots on “The Best Of” on The Food Network and CBS's “The Early Show” as part of the Chef on a Shoestring series, and will appear on FOX’s “Hell’s’ Kitchen” on June 1, 2010.
