Is there a place near the Freedom Trail to rent a wheelchair? Thanks, Jill
Thanks for reaching out to BostonDiscoveryGuide.com about the closest place to rent a wheelchair near Boston's Freedom Trail.
I really had no idea - so I googled "wheelchair rental Boston Common" to see which places would be closest to the Freedom Trail. Of the results that came up, the closest place is:
Gary Drug 59 Charles St, Boston, MA 02114 http://www.Garydrug.com (617) 227-0023
Gary Drug is on Charles Street, the main shopping street in Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood. It is only a few blocks from the Massachusetts State House, one of the Freedom Trail sites across from Boston Common.
I have never been in this store, but I am familiar with it from the outside, and it looks quite nice. You might give them a call to see if they can meet your needs.
Another place that appears to offer wheelchair rentals, although probably not as convenient in regard to the Freedom Trail, is this place in Charlestown:
Wheelchair Express 175 Main Street, Charlestown, MA 02129 (617) 337-5133 bostonorthoresp.com
Two famous Freedom Trail sites - Bunker Hill and the USS Constitution) are in Charlestown - I would guess perhaps half a mile or so from this Main Street location, which is a few blocks from the Warren Tavern.
If this location works for you, you might also give them a call.
Have a great time in Boston, and best of success with the wheelchair rental!
