InterContinental Hotel - Boston's Financial District

Staying in a historic Boston hotel gives you a unique glimpse of the past while letting you experience the best of today's luxury and pampering.

Where else can you stay in a 19th century custom house overlooking Boston Harbor where famous American writer Nathaniel Hawthorn once labored?

Many Boston hotels have a history - but several stand out as top historic hotels, legendary in the past and even more luxurious today.

Bordered by the Theatre District, Waterfront, Freedom Trail, and Faneuil Hall Marketplace, the Financial District offers you easy access to some of Boston's top attractions.

And not surprisingly, you'll find top restaurants here as well.

If you fly into Boston Logan Airport, getting to most of these hotels is easy: just hop on a water taxi to Downtown, and then walk to your hotel.

Here are our top recommended Financial District hotels, in a variety of price ranges.  You'll find everything from sophisticated elegance in iconic historic buildings to sleek decor and near-waterfront locations.

Langham Hotel Boston

Photo of room at Langham Hotel BostonLocated in an ornate former Federal Reserve Building across the street from beautiful Post Office Square Park, the Langham Hotel offers every amenity for business travelers and is also one of the best Boston luxury and spa hotels.

You'll find the Langham Hotel Boston on a lot of "10 Best Boston Hotels" lists - and for good reason . . . the spa, the pool, the fitness center, the personalized service, and the convenient location.

Surprisingly, at some times of the year (and especially on weekends), you can find almost inexpensive rates at this favorite among downtown Boston hotels.  Even your family dog - if under 50 pounds - will be welcome.

The Marriott Custom House Resort can be among the priciest of the Downtown Boston hotels, especially during summer months, but rates drop at other times.  Use the kitchenette occasionally rather than eating out, and you may save money by staying here.
