(Dir. Johannes Holzhausen, 2014)

Featuring unprecedented access to Vienna's Kunsthistorisches Museum, "The Great Museum" reveals an institution that is adapting to the marketing and funding realities of the 21st century while remaining faithful to its core mission.

This film screening is a part of the Film Series: Museums in Motion hosted by the Davis Museum. All films take place in Collins Cinema beginning at 6:00pm. Admission is free for all screenings. In honor of the Davis’s newly installed permanent collections galleries, uncover the secret life of museums through this selection of recent cinematic masterpieces. These contemporary films pull back the curtain on unique, behind-the-scenes views of museum activities and characters, both real and imagined. This series is generously supported by the Davis Museum Film Program Gift.
