Fall Foliage in Boston

City views, tours, cruises, and foliage reports

Fall foliage is a major Boston tourism attraction - and for good reason.  Like most of New England, Boston blazes with gold, crimson, orange, and scarlet throughout autumn months.

Whether you view Boston fall foliage during city walks and drives, on foliage tours, or while cruising along the New England coastline, you'll find color everywhere you turn.

When is the best time to visit Boston if you want to see gorgeous foliage?  From mid-September through mid-November, you're sure to see beautiful colors.  Some years, mellow foliage lingers as late as early -December.  Check out these 7 favorite spots for viewing Boston foliage - no car required!

Of course, plenty of fall color blazes beyond Boston.  A memorable way to see it is on a foliage cruise up along the New England and Eastern Canadian coastline.  These popular foliage cruises depart from Boston all fall - but best to book early, as visitors flock to Boston from around the world for this experience.

Another option is Gray Line's Foliage tour.  These full day excursions let you view gorgeous New England villages and spectacular foliage and scenery from mid-September - late October.  Best of all, when you buy a Go Boston Card, the Foliage Tour (normally $55 adult, $30 child), is free.  Since the card only costs $50 for the 1-day option, this is a very sweet deal!

My Boston Fall Foliage Reports show you what I see each week - and what you can see - around the city as autumn progresses.  As you'll notice, each year brings colors at slightly different times!
