Cruise terminal address

You have a good site....for the life of me I cannot locate an address for the Black Falcon cruise terminal. We will be sailing on 10/30 and will be arriving Boston on 10/29. I would like to place the terminal on my map so that I can determine where to stay. I don't want to be far from the airport nor the cruise terminal. We think we would like to do the Freedom Trail. A street address for the terminal would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The "official" street address for the Black Falcon Cruise Terminal is One Black Falcon Avenue. I'm glad you asked, because if you do a web search, you'll see other addresses listed, such as Summer Street and Boylston Street, but they're totally incorrect. I didn't realize that I didn't have the address on my site, but I've just now added it to the Black Falcon page.

There's a map at the bottom of the Black Falcon page that shows the terminal as well as the surroundings on the South Boston Waterfront page, near the bottom. Look for the little blue ship right at the bottom - you may need to use your mouse to move the map up slightly. Scroll a bit toward the left, and you'll see the rest of the immediate neighborhood, including hotels.

The easiest and fastest way to get the Black Falcon Terminal (you may also see it called "CruisePort") from Boston Logan Airport is by water taxi - there's a note about it in the "Essentials" box right above the map. You'll see signs for the water taxis at the airport, and just let the dispatcher know that you want to go to the Black Falcon Terminal. It's a very short ride - less that 10 minutes - but have your camera out as you'll get some terrific shots of downtown Boston.

As for hotels, there are 3 very nice ones quite close to the CruisePort - you can find details on my South Boston Waterfront Hotels page. Of the 3, the Seaport is especially convenient if you're coming from Logan Airport, because you can take a water taxi there as well (tell the Dispatcher you're going to the Seaport). It also has a Silver Line "T" stop right across the street. The Silver Line also goes to the Cruiseport Terminal. It's above-ground at this point, but also goes underground. You can also take it from the airport instead of the water taxi, if you feel so inclined.

There are lots of very good restaurants in the South Boston Waterfront neighborhood. If you're not from this area and want to try something local, Yankee Lobster on Northern Ave, right next to the pier, is great - very traditional, very fresh seafood - mostly broiled or fried, nothing fancy - and also good Boston cream pie. Unfortunately, there's often a long line near meal times.

The Freedom Trail is an easy walk (10-15 minutes if you don't get distracted by other sights) from the Seaport Hotel (as well as the other 2 South Boston Waterfront hotels). Or you can take the Silver Line to South Station, change to the Red Line, and go to the Park Street exit, which brings you right to Boston Common, the beginning of the Freedom Trail. Go to the Visitors' Center near the Park Street Station, and ask at the counter for a free Freedom Trail map, and you'll be on your way!
